Mine a Planet Drone Fleet Optimizer

Model dock capacity, active drones, mining cycles, editable rarity weights, and upgrade payback with player-entered Mine a Planet assumptions.

Player-entered scenario · not official game data

Fleet scenario inputs

Balance usable dock space against measured drone-cycle throughput. The starting values are an illustrative worksheet; replace every value with the current UI or a deliberate what-if.

Advanced assumptions and rarity weights

Equal rarity weights are a neutral baseline, not Mine a Planet odds. The Luck bias is also an editable scenario coefficient.

Confidence and limitations

  • All costs, ore values, route values, rarity weights, and Luck effects are player-entered scenario assumptions.
  • Missing Drone Index rewards are omitted, not assumed worthless.

Build a dock-first fleet scenario

This optimizer starts with a capacity question: how many entered drones can actually occupy entered dock slots? It then applies transparent cycle math to values you provide. It does not contain an official drone roster, official ore values, or a hidden Luck formula.

Use the current game UI or a controlled before-and-after observation for every field. The illustrative starting values exist only to make the interface operable.

Calculation outline

Total capacity is:

total slots = dock platforms × slots per platform

Working drones are the smaller of entered drones and total slots. Drones beyond capacity are idle; capacity beyond entered drones is empty.

For a route scenario:

mining seconds = Cargo × ore work per unit ÷ drone power

travel seconds = 2 × one-way distance ÷ travel speed

cash/hour/drone = Cargo × 3600 ÷ cycle seconds × ore value

Only working drones contribute to the fleet rate. All units are scenario units unless copied from a current game display.

Reading the action queue

The tool compares three actions:

  • add a candidate drone or replace one active drone;
  • add one dock platform;
  • buy a platform-and-drone bundle.

Each row shows entered cost, projected cash-per-hour change, net value over the chosen horizon, and whether the action fits the entered cash-reserve ratio. A platform receives no standalone production credit when no idle drone can use it. A candidate receives no full-slot credit when every slot is occupied unless it improves the replaced drone’s modeled throughput.

Rarity and Luck assumptions

The official Mine a Planet description confirms free unlimited rolls and a Luck stat, but it does not publish a complete probability table or formula. The six equal starting weights are therefore a neutral worksheet, not game odds.

The tool applies the entered Luck-bias coefficient across rarity bands and normalizes the resulting relative weights to 100%. Set the coefficient to zero to compare weights without a Luck redistribution. Replace weights with effective values observed in the current UI whenever possible.

No pity system is modeled.

Drone Index estimate

Guide footage shows a Drone Index, but a complete current reward table is not verified. The optional estimate multiplies missing entries by an average reward you enter. A zero means the value is omitted, not that missing entries are proven worthless. Keep permanent multipliers separate from one-time cash.

Limits and confidence

  • Costs, route distance, ore work, ore value, candidate power, rarity weights, and Luck effects are editable assumptions.
  • Zero Power, Cargo, or ore value produces zero cash rather than an infinite payback.
  • Speed must be positive.
  • The tool does not model server contention, target respawn, temporary boosts, alien bonuses, or undisclosed server rules unless you incorporate them into measured inputs.
  • Re-run the scenario after every named BETA build.
