Mine a Planet is not only a drone loop. Recent July 2026 guide footage shows a set of side systems around the Drone Index, alien companions, alien balls, UFO weather or events, shards or tokens, and a UFO shop. These observations are consistent across multiple videos, but the official Roblox description does not publish their complete rules.
That makes the systems real enough to explain and too patch-sensitive to assign unverified unlock tiers, drop rates, conversion ratios, or full bonus tables.

Alien companions: what footage shows
Current guides show a practical interaction chain:
- obtain an alien ball through the side-system economy;
- encounter a wild alien;
- throw or use the ball in a catching interaction;
- receive the alien after a successful catch;
- place the alien on a platform;
- gain a platform-related bonus shown by the current UI.
Some creators casually call these aliens “pets,” but the safer game-facing description is alien companion. The observed system does not justify publishing an invented egg table or a generic pet rarity distribution borrowed from another simulator.
What remains unknown about aliens
The checked evidence does not establish a durable table for:
- every alien name and rarity;
- catch odds for each alien ball;
- exact platform bonus values;
- whether bonuses stack additively or multiplicatively;
- equip limits at each progression point;
- offline behavior;
- the exact unlock planet or evolution tier.
Read the current ball, alien, and platform tooltips. Record the visible bonus before and after equipping one companion if you want to value it in an evolution scenario.
UFO weather, shards, tokens, and the shop
Recent beginner guides report a UFO-related event or weather state where players collect UFO shards or tokens. They also show or describe a UFO shop connected to alien balls.
The useful strategy is operational rather than numerical:
- notice the event state in the live UI;
- identify whether collectibles are shared or independently available;
- use movement tools efficiently only if travel is the limiting stage;
- record the displayed shard-to-token or purchase cost instead of copying an old value;
- spend only after comparing the current shop options and tooltips.
No exact spawn timer, conversion ratio, or shop price is hardcoded on this site.
Drone Index as a parallel progression track
Guide footage also shows a Drone Index and describes collection bonuses. The index changes the value of a new drone: a result can matter because it improves an active slot, fills a missing collection entry, or both.
Keep those values separate:
- production replacement value: measured cash-per-time improvement after equipping the drone;
- one-time index reward: explicit current reward for completing an entry or milestone;
- permanent index multiplier: an ongoing effect that needs a baseline and horizon before cash conversion.
The Drone Fleet Optimizer leaves index value player-entered because a complete current reward table is not verified.
Side-system value in an evolution decision
If an evolution visibly unlocks aliens, UFO events, or index access, those systems can affect ROI. The Evolution ROI Scenario accepts an optional side-system value, but the input should come from current evidence.
A careful estimate can be built as:
side-system value = one-time visible rewards + measured extra cash/min × chosen minutes
Do not add a rumored bonus and a measured post-equip rate if they describe the same effect; that would double-count value.
| System | Observed | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Alien balls | Used in a wild-alien catching interaction | Universal catch odds or pity |
| Alien platforms | Companions can be placed for bonuses | Exact stacking formula |
| UFO events | Guides report collectible shards or tokens | Fixed spawn timer or conversion rate |
| UFO shop | Connected to alien-ball acquisition in guides | Permanent inventory or prices |
| Drone Index | Collection progression and bonuses are shown | Complete current reward table |
How to verify a current side-system value
Use a short controlled test:
- record the visible build title and date;
- remove temporary boosts when possible;
- measure several production cycles without the companion;
- equip one companion and change nothing else;
- repeat the same route;
- compare the average rate;
- record whether the bonus continues offline;
- repeat after a named BETA update.
If the result varies, publish a range and sample size rather than a false exact constant.
BETA 9 and BETA 10 caution
The official BETA 9 event was called Overclocked, but its event artwork and title do not document alien or UFO math. An official BETA UPDATE 10 event was already listed on August 1 without feature details. Side systems can therefore move faster than a static guide.
Use the live interface first, then the planet evolution guide for milestone decisions and the ore tiers guide for the verified resource boundary.
Frequently asked questions
Does Mine a Planet have pets?
Recent guide footage shows alien companions caught with alien balls and placed on platforms for bonuses. This site uses the game-facing term alien companion rather than assuming a traditional egg-based pet system.
How do UFO tokens work?
Current guides report collecting UFO shards or tokens during UFO weather or events and spending them in a UFO shop connected to alien balls. Exact rates and conversion rules are not verified here.
When do aliens and UFO events unlock?
The exact progression milestones are unresolved. Follow the current UI rather than a fixed tier number from an older guide.
