Mine a Planet Evolution ROI Scenario

Compare a player-entered evolution threshold, production uplift, reset loss, side-system value, and planning horizon without inventing game constants.

Editable ROI scenario · unknown values stay visible

Evolution milestone worksheet

Test whether a visible evolution milestone repays its entered shortfall and reset loss. The official description confirms rarer ore and bigger worlds, not the starting multiplier or threshold below.

Advanced multipliers, reset loss, and unlock value

Every coefficient is editable. Replace the illustrative tier multiplier before treating the result as relevant to your build.

Confidence and limitations

  • Thresholds, tier multipliers, reset loss, side-system value, and scaling coefficients are player-entered assumptions.
  • Unknown side-system value is omitted, not assumed worthless.
  • A zero reset penalty means no loss was entered; it does not prove the evolution preserves everything.

Test a visible evolution milestone

This worksheet begins with the cash threshold and production rates you enter, not a built-in tier table. Mine a Planet’s official description confirms that evolutions unlock rarer ore and bigger worlds; it does not publish exact thresholds, multipliers, consumed costs, or reset rules.

The illustrative values keep the tool interactive. Replace them with a current confirmation screen and a measured route before using the recommendation.

Calculation outline

Only drones that fit into dock slots are active:

active fleet = min(fleet size, dock slots)

Current and target cash per minute apply the entered tier, fleet, dock, weather, and optional mutation multipliers to the entered base route rate. Every multiplier is a scenario assumption unless it comes from the current UI or a controlled observation.

The remaining threshold is:

remaining threshold = max(0, full threshold − current cash)

This is the amount still needed to qualify. It is not automatically the cash consumed by evolution.

For a positive production change:

break-even minutes = remaining threshold ÷ cash-per-minute uplift

Net horizon value is:

production uplift × horizon + entered side-system value − remaining threshold − entered reset penalty

Recommendation labels

  • evolve_now means the entered threshold is already met and the target rate is higher. It does not waive reset warnings.
  • wait means the entered target improves production and the shortfall can repay within up to twice the selected horizon.
  • hard_pass means the active fleet is zero, the target rate is not higher, or the entered break-even falls outside that range.

These are deterministic branches for the worksheet, not official strategy labels.

Reset and unlock handling

Enter a direct cash-equivalent reset penalty only when the current prompt or a measured recovery plan supports it. A zero means no penalty was modeled, not that all assets are proven to persist.

Side-system value can include visible one-time rewards plus measured extra cash over the same horizon. Unknown Drone Index, alien, or UFO value is omitted and flagged. Do not double-count a listed multiplier and the measured production rate it already created.

Offline, weather, and mutation assumptions

Offline efficiency is clamped to 0 through 1 and applied only to the displayed offline rates. Weather remains a separate multiplier so a negative weather effect does not disappear inside a mutation estimate. The mutation toggle has no effect unless enabled; a multiplier of 1 means no change.

No BETA 9 or BETA 10 mutation value is presented as official.

Limits and confidence

  • The target tier must be greater than the current tier.
  • Fleet size and dock slots are nonnegative integers.
  • Very large fleets remain limited by entered dock capacity.
  • A non-positive production delta has no break-even and returns hard_pass.
  • Exact cash values are scenario outputs, not predictions of server behavior.
  • Re-run after a named BETA build or any visible economy change.
